Torsten Seemann
Torsten Seemann is the scientific director of the Victorian Bioinformatics Consortium at Monash University, and a senior researcher at the Victorian Life Sciences Computation Initiative. His specialty is bioinformatics applied to problems in microbial genomics, particularly experiments involving high-throughput DNA sequencing. He has developed many popular open-source software tools including Prokka for microbial genome annotation and VelvetOptimiser for genome assembly.
